The border design on the this southwestern Kokopelli leather barrette is done by hand. The Kokopelli impression is made by pounding a "stamp" into the grain of the leather.  The leather is block dyed Dark Brown.  This technique keeps the dye out of the tooled impressions so they reflect the natural color of the vegetable tanned cowhided we use.

Our medium leather hair barrettes with stick measure approximately  4 Inches across.  The wood stick is about 5 1/2 Inches long and 1/4" in diameter.  Proudly handmade in the USA!
